Training modules

Module 1: Introduction to the ROOT

This module is relevant for all users, it covers: 

  • What is ROOT? 
  • Navigating the ROOT


Module 2: Direct data entry

This module is designed for those using the 'direct data entry' method of recording TOMs in the ROOT only. This means that you will be entering TOMs for each service user directly into the ROOT. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, contact the person leading on this in your organisation, it covers: 

  • Adding a patient 
  • Adding an episode of care
  • Editing and deleting a rating

Module 3: Uploading data

This module is for services who are uploading their data to the ROOT. If you are using the 'direct data entry' method (Module 2), you do not need to complete this module. Proceed directly to Module 4. It covers:

  • Uploading a data file
  • Column mapping
  • Previewing your import

 

 

Module 4: Generating reports

This module is relevant to all users and is split into four parts. It covers: 

  1. Generating reports for individual service users
  2. Generating service-level (aggregated) reports: general and quarterly
  3. Generating service-level (aggregated) reports: AAC
  4. Generating service-level (aggregated) reports: VPD 

 

Module 5: Admin functions 

This module is only relevant for those with admin rights. This guide covers the full range of admin functions currently available, including:

  • Adding and removing users at your service from the ROOT 
  • Generating admin reports
  • Setting up 'user defined'/custom fields 

Users with admin rights can access this module by selecting 'Training Module: Admin Functions' from the Admin menu above.
